Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a difficult period, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with former coach Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks his maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour title, took control to push for a decider.
The opponent defended four early opportunities in a close final set before the champion broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he secured the title with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
